Support pollinators and essential native plants this spring!
Please refrain from cleaning up your gardens until the temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees. Many butterflies, bees and other pollinators are currently overwintering in the dead leaves and hollowed-out stems of last year’s plants. If you clean up your gardens too early, you could be throwing away this year’s pollination critters!
When it’s time for the leaves and dead plants to go, remember to keep leaves and other yard waste out of the water. Compost well away from the water or bag and remove.
