Boat Wash Operator

Know a college-age youth looking for a great experience and good pay this summer? Retired and looking to give some time to protect our precious Glen Lake waters? The GLA Boat Wash is our first line of defense against aquatic invasive species such as Eurasian watermilfoil.

Boat Wash Operators help to protect Glen Lake, serving visitors and locals alike, by collecting data and providing area ambassadorship and invasive species education. In addition to interviewing boaters and anglers, operators flush boat motors and use a power washer to decontaminate boats, halting the potential introduction of harmful aquatic invasive species into Glen Lake.

When: The boat wash is generally open on weekends only in May, seven days per week from late May through late September, and weekends only in October.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Boat Wash Operators work part time. Shift scheduling is flexible and able to accommodate return to school for students in fall.
