The award-winning Glen Lake Association was founded in 1945 with a focus to preserve and protect the Glen Lake - Crystal River Watershed in perpetuity. Educating riparians and the community about this delicate watershed is paramount to its health and its future for generations to come. It’s the reason involvement by property owners, visitors and the community is essential. With thousands of lake associations in Michigan, the GLA is among the less than one percent that employs a lake biologist and offers a Boat Wash/ Inspection program at launches to protect the lakes from invasive species.
These programs and many others are funded in large part through annual association membership donations. We encourage all who know, utilize and enjoy these water resources to support our mission and programming efforts. Members receive our annual report, bimonthly electronic news and education updates and are invited to stay in touch through our website, Facebook and Instagram pages. Members are also invited to special events and recieve discounted rates on our popular Discovery Boat Tours. All are encouraged to participate in our annual meeting each summer to meet and catch up with neighbors and hear the "State of the Watershed" report. Riparian Memebrs have the added benefit of casting votes for election of new board members and approving changes to the governance of the organization. Vollunteerism is a core value of the GLA and Member involvement in our many committees is the lifeblood of our organization.
In addition, special Business Memberships are available in two levels. Join the GLA as a business partner here.
