Message from Kate Gille: April 2025

April 2025

They say that “no one steps in the same river twice.” Since bringing my life full circle and returning to Glen Arbor as the GLA’s first Executive Director, I’ve reflected on this quote often. This watershed is a truly magical place where things are always changing yet somehow staying much the same: pristine.

That’s thanks to the investment of our dedicated volunteers and members who’ve protected it for decades. It’s an honor to now carry on this legacy of stewardship. Over the past month, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of you. And as the summer season unfolds, I look forward to meeting even more while sharing conversations on docks, trails, and boats around Glen Lake.

Behind the scenes, I’ve begun work on administrative projects and a strategic planning process to chart the course for our next chapter. In the coming months, I’ll be listening closely, learning a lot, and collaborating with our community to shape a shared vision for the future.

Like the Crystal River, always flowing with fresh waters, I plan to bring a steady current of new ideas to carry the Glen Lake Association’s mission forward. Thank you to everyone who’s embarking on this journey with me, including our incredible board of directors, staff, and supporters.

Please read on to learn more about what we’ve been working on and what’s ahead!

With gratitude,

Kate Gille
Executive Director, Glen Lake Association

P.S. I’ll be attending the Michigan Lakes and Streams Association Annual Conference later this month. If you’re also attending and you’d like to make a plan to connect, please reach out via email.
