Introducing Rob Meyer
In the early 1990s, Rob and his family enjoyed several one-week stays at the Glen Eden Resort. Later, he and his wife Judy bought their home on Little Glen in 2002 before expanding it in 2016. They moved full-time in 2018. Since then, Rob has served as a Captain on the GLA Water Level Committee; participated in water clarity, chlorophyll-a, and phosphorus testing on Little Glen; and volunteered regularly at the Empire Food Pantry.
Before retiring to Glen Lake, Rob enjoyed a 36-year career practicing environmental and land development law, mostly at the Porter Wright law firm in Columbus, Ohio, with a 12-year interlude as General Counsel of Dominion Homes, a publicly-traded home building company based in Dublin, Ohio. He served on a number of non-profit boards in central Ohio, including the Columbus Bar Foundation, the Central Ohio Sustainability Alliance, and the Youth Entrepreneur Program. He also held several positions with the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio. Rob is a graduate of Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and Ohio State’s College of Law.
Introducing Daniel Silvasi
In 1969, Dan’s family vacation included a tour of beautiful northern Michigan. This was when he first fell in love with Glen Lake and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Dan met his future wife Linda in 1982. Her family has a long history at Glen Lake beginning with her parents’ honeymoon on Big Glen. They continued to vacation together at the lake as their family grew. Eventually, they bought a cottage in the early ’80s. Dan and Linda married in 1985, and in 1992, they were ecstatic to purchase a cottage at Villa Glen. Their family spent memorable summers there, and in 2014, they purchased their current home nearby in Burdickville.
Dan is a retired physician who earned his degree in Physiology from Michigan State University, attended Wayne State University for medical school, and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan. Dan was Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Corewell Health Beaumont in Troy, Michigan, as well as the Medical Director of the Operating Room and Clinical Director of Surgical Services at Troy, which is one of the highest volume surgical hospitals in the state. He was also an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dan previously served on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists and the Board of Directors at Lourdes Senior Community, which is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Dominican Sisters.
Dan and Linda are long-time members of the GLA, and are also members of the Glen Lake Yacht Club. Currently, Dan is a Captain on the GLA Water Level Committee. Together, Dan and Linda divide their time between Glen Lake; Birmingham, Michigan; and Bucerías, Mexico.
